Aliyev Reiterates Possibility of Resolving Karabakh Conflict by Use of Force18:05 Yerevan | 14:05 GMT | Saturday 19 April
Azerbaijani President said that “his country is not going to put up with the unfair attitude of the international community about the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.”
“We are not going to put up with the current state of affairs,” Ilham Aliyev said at the opening ceremony of five settlements for Azeri refugees in Fizuli region. “Azerbaijan will not be diverted from its positions. We are called for compromise. But what should we do? Should we cede Karabakh?”
He voiced hope that Armenia and international mediators will understand “uselessness of occupation policy.”
“All international organizations recognize righteousness of our cause. The mediators know that Armenia is insincere and drags out the talks but they turn a blind eye to this,” Aliyev said, reminding that “14 years of talks produced no effect.”
“Baku is still participating in talks because there is hope for a fair resolution. But our patience can give away,” he said.
He emphasized that Azerbaijan will build up its military might, with a $2 billion military budget. “The Azeri army in the strongest in the region,” he said, Izvestia reports News
