Sefilyan Applied for Citizenship

Recently the Passport and Visa Department of the Police has accepted Jirair Sefilyan’s third application for citizenship. Robert Kocharyan had not responded to the first application in 2004, and had refused the second in 2006 without sufficient grounds. Jirair Sefilyan made his third attempt while serving his sentence but the officers of the Visa and Passport Department refused to accept it for different excuses.
Independent from whether citizenship is granted to him or not, according to the legislation of Armenia, it is impossible to deport Jirair Sefilyan from the Homeland, the office of Jirair Sefilyan reports.
